We never.
I would have remembered. And I don't.
I remember standing on the beach.
That night. I remember how chilly it was.
But the rest you must have made up.
I wish it were all true. It would be something
like a life. Not a very good one but something.
Sand got in my shoes. I remember that.
I was just wearing what I thought I had to wear
at the office. This was before I lost the job? Or after.
I see green. I see someone dressed in green.
I think that's enough to recall.
Close the door behind you when you leave.
